Invitation to Positive Vibes
Special update for this newsletter
Hello again!
Well, I have some big news to share regarding this newsletter. This has not been an easy decision to make, but after careful consideration, I’ve decided that the next issue of this newsletter (Sept. 26) will be the LAST ISSUE of Speak for the Heart.
I know this may come as a surprise, so please know that this decision comes as I’m embracing new opportunities in my writing career, including focusing on my creative writing and supporting other physician writers through coaching and education.
Your readership has meant a great deal to me, and I’m incredibly grateful for your support thus far! That’s why I’d like to invite you, if you haven’t already done so, to subscribe to my existing newsletter, Positive Vibes, which is focused on sharing good, fun news; promoting healthy optimism; and keeping you up to date on all my latest ventures (and adventures).
If you would like a ray of sunshine in your inbox, please subscribe to Positive Vibes, which has proven popular among readers and is dedicated to promoting a happy, positive mindset, which you’ve read and heard me say time and again is good for heart health! Because, as my motto goes, happier hearts are healthier hearts.TM
You can subscribe to Positive Vibes, and see all the back issues, here (and you’ll also get a FREE e-book when you subscribe!):
I also know that there are several physician writers who read and follow this newsletter, so if that describes you, I’m excited to share with you that I’ll be launching a newsletter specifically for physician writers in October! You can sign up here:
And finally, you can always find all the prior issues of Speak for the Heart here.
With deepest gratitude,
Yasmine S. Ali, MD
Heart-Health News: The Highlights
My Take:
Manuka honey has been in the news lately, and for good reason. Recent pre-clinical studies have shown its benefits in fighting cancer cells, promoting inflammation, and improving wound healing. Note that “pre-clinical” means that these studies have not yet been done in humans, so we don’t know yet what the outcomes in humans will be or what dose to recommend, but the results so far are promising and you should stay tuned for the human studies/trials that are sure to come!
My Take:
Although it’s still best for your heart and your overall health to get adequate sleep on a regular, daily basis, this recent study was encouraging for those who like to catch up on lost sleep over the weekend!
