Some Much-Needed Stress Relief
Plus, a new section: AI in Medicine
Hello again!
I hope you’ve had a healthy month of July!
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the importance of stress relief and stress reduction in our daily lives, because so many of us seem to be under an inordinate amount of stress (a trend that was exacerbated by the pandemic) … and given how bad stress is for our hearts, minds, and the rest of our bodies, I thought it would be a good idea to focus on stress reduction as a theme for at least the rest of this year.
So, in this newsletter, which is the e-magazine version you’ll receive on the last Wednesday of every month (premium subscribers receive a much longer version with more features), you’ll find the first of many pieces on stress and the heart. That’s in addition to the other sections you’ll see in every monthly edition!
You also may have begun receiving the weekly heart-health news I’ve just started sending out to all my subscribers; I’m committed to keeping those going, so you can stay informed on some of the most interesting and most useful studies and developments in the world of heart health! That briefer, weekly newsletter will go out approximately 3 times a month, on the first 3 weeks; then, on the final Wednesday of the month, you’ll get this longer e-zine.
I also have some exciting news if you’re thinking of upgrading to a Premium subscription: the monthly price has dropped by over 25%, for a limited time only!!
If you’d like to see what you can expect to receive as a Premium subscriber, check out this e-zine sample.
Keep in mind that this is just the first example, with more bonus features to come! And, if you upgrade to Premium now, you will automatically receive your first FREE health guide, “Your Guide to Healthy Summer Travel,” delivered to your inbox!
Upgrade to Premium now and receive this free guide!
You’ll receive the monthly Premium newsletter on the last Wednesday of the month (or the day after if that Wed. is a holiday). You’ll also receive any extras, like tip sheets, research summaries, or special discounts, as soon as they become available.
I’d also still love to hear from you about what topics you would like to see covered in these newsletters. So just reply to this email with your ideas, and let me know!
To your health,
Yasmine

An uplifting story about Barcelona’s first rooftop gardener. I think his naturally heart-healthy lifestyle speaks for itself, given his centenarian status!
In other news … we’ve long known that chronic sleep deprivation and sleep disorders increase the risk of heart disease, but now a study confirms that it works both ways: heart disease can lead to disordered sleep, too:

High blood pressure, broken heart syndrome, and heart attacks can all result from acute and chronic stress. Have a look at Dr. Dhargalkar’s expert post, featured in this newsletter, on how stress affects our hearts—illustrating why stress management and reduction are so important. 🙂 💓
