Relaunching my heart-health newsletter!

Happy Heart Month!

Hello again, everyone!

Happy Heart Month!

I’m so excited to announce the relaunch of my “Speak for the Heart” newsletter!

Many of you had asked about it, so you’ll be glad to know that it is back, with even bigger plans—stay tuned!

The reason for my hiatus: I had to take time off to finally complete a project of my own heart, one I’d been working on for over a decade: a gripping, narrative history of the Waverly Train Disaster of 1978. In my new book, Walk through Fire: The Train Disaster that Changed America, I relate the story, for the first time ever, of the disaster that occurred in my own hometown of Waverly, Tennessee—its history from beginning to end, from the perspective of the people who were directly involved and survived to tell the tale. The book also shows how the Waverly Train Disaster catalyzed the formation of FEMA and led to numerous other national and global changes in rail safety, hazmat handling, and disaster response.

The book is currently available for pre-order and officially releases on February 21, 2023.

(If you’d like to sign up for my author newsletter as well, which is separate from this one, you can do so and stay up to date on author events and book signings here: https://mailchi.mp/2bdc38a241fe/waverly-train-book-newsletter )

So, stay tuned for the next “Speak for the Heart” installment, and be sure to add this newsletter to your “safe contacts” list (since it is coming from a different email address now). You can learn how to do so for almost any email server here: https://www.whatcounts.com/resources/checklists/how-to-safelist-emails/

Until next time,

Yasmine
